A man was stabbed in an attack on a footpath on a Sheffield estate.

The 25-year-old was knifed on a path running between Ironside Road and Raeburn Road, Gleadless Valley, in the early hours of Saturday.

He sustained a wound to his head and two stab wounds to his leg in the attack.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "At around 12.45am on Saturday, April 1 it was reported a 25-year-old man was assaulted on a footpath between Ironside Road and Raeburn Road.

"The 25-year-old sustained a wound to his head and two stab wounds to his leg in the attack.

"Did you see this reported assault? Were you in the area at the time?

"If you have any information about the incident, please contact the police or information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers."
