Police have released this CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after an attack outside a takeaway in Sheffield city centre.

Detectives are investigating after a 27-year-old man was left with serious injuries.

He suffered a head injury, broken teeth and a swollen eye in the assault near a food outlet on Carvery Street.

A police spokesman said: “It is reported that a man allegedly punched the 27-year-old a number of times, knocking him to the pavement.”

“The 27-year-old was taken to hospital with a head injury, broken teeth and a swollen eye.”

The assault happened at around 2.15am on Sunday, February 16.

Police believe the man in the CCTV image could help with their enquiries.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who may recognise the man in the images or who witnessed the incident.
