Man quizzed over South Yorkshire death crash released on bail

A man quizzed over a crash in which a pedestrian died has been released on bail.

The 20-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a collision on the A630 Doncaster Road, Dalton, Rotherham, at 8.30pm on Saturday.

South Yorkshire Police said a 64-year-old man was struck by a blue Honda Civic travelling towards Thrybergh.

The pedestrian, who was crossing the road outside Silverwood Miners Welfare Club, was pronounced dead at the scene.
