A motorist was left seriously injured following a collision in Sheffield.

The 65-year-old Ford Focus driver was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Corsa at the Handsworth Road roundabout near Asda at 3.05pm on Wednesday.

Police said the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries while the 22-year-old man driving the Corsa escaped with minor injuries.

The collision caused traffic chaos in the area while emergency services were at the scene.

Witnesses should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
