A man has appeared in court in Sheffield charged with murdering a 75-year-old woman in Barnsley.
Liam Naylor, aged 23, of Junction Street, Masbrough Dyke, is accused of murdering Doreen Walker in April.
Her body was discovered at a property on Birkwood Avenue, Cudworth, Barnsley, at 5.35pm on April 2 and police were alerted.
She died from multiple injuries, a post mortem examination found.
The case at Sheffield Crown Court was adjourned for a plea and case management hearing in August and Naylor was remanded in custody.
No plea was entered but Judge Julian Goose told Naylor he would have to enter his plea at the next hearing in August.
The trial is due to take place in October.
