DETECTIVES have released an E-fit of a man they want to trace after a schoolgirl was grabbed by a stranger who tried to drag her away as she walked across a playing field.

Police were alerted after a 10-year-old girl told her family she was approached by a man who tugged at her coat and dragged her towards the centre of the playing field on Circular Road, Staveley, on Monday, April 23, at about 3.10pm.

The youngster kicked the man on his shin and ran off as he fell to the ground.

He is described as white, aged in his early 30s, about 5ft 9in and with short, dark hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt, dark blue jeans and dark coloured shoes.
