Man hit in face with bottle in South Yorkshire pub

A man suffered serious facial injuries and lost two teeth when he was hit with a bottle in a South Yorkshire pub.

The 29-year-old was attacked in the New Bank public house, Doncaster Road Goldthorpe, Barnsley.

A police probe is underway, with officers trying to track down the attacker.

He was white with short, ginger hair, of a stocky build and was wearing a dark coloured top.

It is thought he may have been linked to a dark Mercedes in the car park at the time of the attack.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "It has been reported at around 11.50pm on Sunday, November 28, a man was assaulted at the New Bank public house on Doncaster Road, Goldthorpe.

"It is believed a man was struck in the face by a bottle after a fight broke out near the smoking area door inside the pub.

"The 29-year-old man sustained serious facial injuries and lost two of his teeth in the attack.

"The man who is thought to have thrown the bottle is thought to be linked to a dark coloured Mercedes car that was in the car park at the time of the incident.

"Were you in the pub at the time of the incident? Did you see this assault?"
