A MAN was left cut and bruised after he was attacked in a Doncaster town centre bar.
The 22-year-old, from Doncaster, was in the bar when he was punched in the face by an unknown man.
He suffered a cut and bruising to his eye and nose in the attack, say police.
Officers are now appealing for information on the assault after the incident was reported at the Walkabout bar on Priory Walk.
Officers carrying out the investigation have been studying closed circuit television pictures to try to find clues to the incident, which happened on Sunday, February 20 at around 1am.
The have now issued a picture taken by the cameras of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.
Officers have also released a description of their suspect. He was described as a white man in his early 20s. He was tall with short dark hair.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police believe this to be an unprovoked attack and are keen to hear from anybody who may have seen the incident or recognise the man from the CCTV image.”
A spokesman for Walkabout, where the attack happened, said: “We don’t have many violent incidents at Walkabout, but when it does occur we do not condone it and will fully assist the police to identify the offenders.”
