A man has been arrested on suspicion of kidnap after a teenager was forced into the back of a car.
A 16-year-old boy was walking along School Street in Eckington when a black coloured hatchback car pulled up next to him.
The passenger grabbed hold of the boy and forced him in the back of the car.
The car drove off before pulling up on Gas House Lane.
The passenger let the boy out and threw him in some nettles at the side of the road.
An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of kidnap after the incident at about 10.15pm last Wednesday.
He has now been bailed pending further inquiries.
A Derbyshire police spokesman said: "Officers are still trying to trace the passenger and want to hear from witnesses or anyone who might have information on the people responsible."
