Man found with head injuries after attack in Sheffield street

A man was found with head injuries in a Sheffield street, police have revealed.

The 26-year-old was found injured in Gleadless Road, Heeley, on Tuesday afternoon.

Police cordoned off the area where he was found and examined the scene.

Officers now want to hear from witnesses or anyone with information about the incident.

A man has been arrested and bailed.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "At around 4.30pm on Tuesday, November 1, police were called to Gleadless Road, Sheffield, after reports that a 26-year-old man had been found with a head injury.

"It is believed the 26-year-old had been assaulted and was treated in hospital for his injuries.

"His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

"A 39-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed pending further inquiries."
