It involved a black BMW series 3 heading towards Worksop, and a yellow Vauxhall Astra van and a white Vauxhall Astra estate, both travelling in the opposite lane towards Todwick.

The BMW’s driver, a 29-year-old man, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Four other people also needed hospital treatment - a 41-year-old man driving the Astra van, and three people in the Astra estate - a man aged 45 and two passengers, a 46-year-old woman and a boy of 14.
