A PEDESTRIAN from South Yorkshire is fighting for his life after a hit and run incident.
The man, aged 47, was crossing Sheffield Road in Penistone at around 11.35pm on Friday when he was struck by a grey Jaguar XK, which was travelling towards Sheffield.
Police said the driver failed to stop at the scene, about 30 metres from the Penistone side of the junction with Wentworth Road.
Police say the pedestrian, who is from Penistone, suffered life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to Barnsley Hospital with a fractured pelvis and arm.
A 46-year-old man from Barnsley was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop, and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
