A man injured when he was tipped out of his wheelchair in a patient transport vehicle has died - two-and-a-half months after the incident.
The 74-year-old, who has not been named, fell from his wheelchair in the back of the vehicle when the driver did an emergency stop at a red traffic light.
The white Volkswagen was travelling along the Wicker in Sheffield at the time, and police said since the incident the elderly man’s health deteriorated. He died on June 23.
It is believed a man who was passing by helped the driver in returning the 74-year-old to his seat in the vehicle.
Police want to speak to the Good Samaritan who helped out at the scene.
