A MAN has died after the car he was hunting rabbits in ran out control in a field.

The 25-year-old, who has not yet been named, was a passenger in a Subaru Forester which crashed in a field off White Water Lane, Styrrup, near Worksop in the early hours of Tuesday, September 13.

Police believe he was ‘lamping’ - a term used to describe the night time hunting of rabbits.

The driver of the car - a 22-year-old Worksop man - was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Two other passengers - a 21-year-old man from Dinnington and a 28-year-old man from Thurcroft - were also arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
