A man has died following a multi-vehicle life-threatening collision in South Yorkshire, police have confirmed.

A 75-year-old man has died in hospital following a crash in Barnsley earlier this week.

The man was involved in a multi-vehicle smash in Broadway, Barnsley, at the junction with Woodland Drive, at about 4pm on Monday, January 5.

A red Jaguar XJS was involved in the collision with a white DAF lorry, which in turn was involved in a smash with a blue Peugeot 206 and a white Ford Transit van.

The 75-year-old man was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries but died yesterday, January 10.

South Yorkshire Police are continuing to appeal for information or witnesses to the collision. If you have information, call 101 quoting incident number 591 of January 5.
