A 38-year-old man has been charged with murder after being arrested in connection with missing man Thomas Groome, who was last seen in 2010.

Jason Thaxter from Hexthorpe, Doncaster has been charged with murder and conspiracy to prevent the lawful and decent burial of a dead body.

Thaxter, 38, was arrested on Thursday and has been remanded to appear at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court today.

Mr Groome was last seen by his family on New Years Day 2010. His body has never been found.

Earlier this year, June Buttle pleaded guilty to manslaughter at Sheffield Crown Court in connection with Mr Groome.
