A man has been charged over a crash during a police chase in Sheffield.

The 18-year-old is alleged to have been involved in a collision with a single-decker bus and a Nissan Amera, which were both stationary, in Main Road, Darnall, on Sunday afternoon.

He is alleged to have been involved in a police pursuit beforehand and is accused of dangerous driving, failing to stop and driving without a licence or insurance.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "At around 12.55pm on Sunday, June 11, it is reported that a grey BMW 3 series was involved in a collision with a pink single-decker bus and a silver Nissan Almera, which were both stationary.

"This followed a police pursuit after the BMW is alleged to have failed to stop for officers.

"An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop and other driving offences. He has since been charged and bailed to court.

"The bus and Nissan sustained damage."
