A BOOZY man convicted of attacking his wife breached a non-contact order within three weeks, a court heard.

Patricia Silvers told police her 25-year marriage to violent husband Paul was ‘horrendous’ when drinking.

He punched her face and body on September 16 and she ran from her home in Hollins Spring Avenue, Dronfield, and locked herself in a car to escape him.

Silvers received a one-year supervision order at Chesterfield Magistrates’ Court on November 2 and was ordered to pay his wife £100 compensation.

A restraining order, prohibiting him contacting Mrs Silvers, was imposed.

But Slivers was hauled back before the justices for breaching the order just a few weeks later on November 24 by visiting her home. When arrested, he had drunk almost four times the limit for motorists, the court heard..

Silvers, aged 49, of Firthwood Road, Dronfield, admitted breaching the order and was given a new, 18-month supervision order, including a six-month alcohol treatment programme, with £85 costs.
