A DONCASTER man was left nursing facial injuries after asking for details of local bus services.
The man was attacked by a group of thugs in Hexthorpe when he tried to find out if he would be able to catch a late night bus into the town centre.
Police are appealing for information about the alleged assault on the man, which happened on Thursday, June 2, at around 11.30pm.
The 32-year-old local man had spent part of the evening at a friend’s house on Shadyside, Hexthorpe, police said.
He is said to have then left the house and spoken to some women outside a nearby house, where there appeared to be a party in progress.
The man asked if they knew what time the buses were due.
Shortly afterwards a group of men then joined the women and the man began talking to them.
Then, for no apparent reason, the men then began assaulting him, said a police spokesman.
The victim sustained injuries to his face including a swollen nose and left eye and a cut to his head, but he did not need to go to hospital for any medical treatment.
Police are keen to hear from anybody who may have information about the incident or who saw the assault happen.
