A man was punched after a row at a South Yorkshire takeaway.

South Yorkshire Police said the 23-year-old was assaulted outside a takeaway on Station Road, Wombwell, between 1am and 2am on Saturday, November 5.

A row had broken out inside the takeaway beforehand.

CCTV images have been released of a man police believe could hold vital information about the incident.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "A 23-year-old man was reportedly assaulted by a man unknown to him while outside of the takeaway in Station Road. He suffered minor facial injuries as a result of the incident.

"Police believe there was a brief argument in the takeaway prior to the alleged assault and are asking for anyone who was in the shop and who saw what happened to come forward."
