Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after stabbing in Sheffield

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing in Sheffield.

A 23-year-old man is in police custody being questioned by detectives in connection with a stabbing in the city centre.

At around 1pm on Sunday, August 23, a man attended hospital in Sheffield with stab wounds to his body.

The victim, who is also 23-years-old and from Sheffield, remains in hospital in a serious condition.

It was initially reported that the victim had been assaulted near to the Park Square roundabout in Sheffield city centre. However, enquiries since Sunday have lead officers to believe that the scene of the assault is in Arundel Gate.

Officers are still keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the Arundel Gate area between 11am and 1pm on Sunday.
