A MAN has been arrested after a Sheffield supermarket worker was threatened by a robber who was wielding a knife.

The armed raid happened at the Co-op store on Constable Road, Hemsworth, Sheffield, at around 9.30pm on Tuesday night, a police spokesman said.

Officers from the Woodseats and Gleadless Valley safer neighbourhood teams seized CCTV footage from the store following the raid.

They viewed the footage and from it managed to identify a suspect.

The man was arrested yesterday on suspicion of robbery.

Inspector Ian Stubbs from the team said: “This is really good news.”
