A man has been arrested after fire crews were called to a large blaze in a block of Sheffield flats tonight.

The fire at a block of flats in Dyche Road, Jordanthorpe took three fire engines to put out.

South Yorkshire Police have arrested a man on suspicion of arson in connection with the blaze.

The blaze, which fire crews were called to at 6.40pm, has caused damage to at least one flat, according to eyewitnesses at the scene.

One man was treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation at the scene.

South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service are still on the scene and have opened an investigation into the cause of the fire.
