POLICE are growing increasingly concerned for the safety of an 82-year-old man missing from his Rotherham home.

Ernest Ronald Lancaster (pictured) was last seen just before leaving his home address on Alric Drive, Brinsworth, around 4pm on Saturday April 7.

It is understood he left home with his bus pass and a small amount of money. He has failed to return and has not been seen by any family members since.

Police say Ernest is vulnerable and takes medication for a minor heart complaint. He also suffers from Alzheimer’s disease so may appear confused.

Ernest is described as being 5ft 7in to 5ft 8in tall, of slim build with short, greying hair.

He was last seen wearing dark shoes, a v-neck dark blue or black jumper, a black-striped shirt and black jogging bottoms with a white stripe down the legs.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Ernest Lancaster is urged to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting crime number CX/2259/2012.
