A man is in critical condition in hospital after being stabbed in a Sheffield street.
The victim, 27, is reported to have suffered a single stab wound during the incident in Hastilar Road South, Woodthorpe earlier this afternoon.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Police were called to Hastilar Road South, Sheffield just after 1pm today following reports that a man had been stabbed.
"The man, who is 27, is said to have suffered a single stab wound during the incident. He has been taken to hospital where he currently remains in a critical condition.
"An investigation is underway to identify the offender and officers remain in the area carrying out enquiries."
Hastilar Road South was closed between the junctions of Nodder Road and Fishponds Road West following the incident.
