Major Sheffield road to partially close due to work on roundabout

A Sheffield major road will be partially closed for two days as council workers carry out work on a roundabout.

Blackstock Road will be closed to traffic from the Hemsworth Road whilst kerbing works are carried out on the roundabout near the Norton water tower.

One lane on Blackstock Road will be closed from the roundabout just past the junction with Backmoor Road on Monday, 14 and Tuesday, November 15.

The closures will begin at 9.30am and will reopen at 3.30pm.

There will be no access onto Blackstock Road from the Hemsworth Road roundabout between the times stated. Traffic in the opposite direction will be unaffected.

Some bus services will be affected by the partial road closures.

A spokesman from Travel South Yorkshire said: "Service 1 towards High Green and Service 20 towards Hemsworth to operate as normal to Norton Lane then divert via Hemsworth Road, Norton Avenue, Bochum Parkway, Raeburn Road and Constable Road before resuming normal route on Blackstock Road.

"Service 1 towards Batemoor and Service 20 towards Ecclesfield to operate as normal."
