Magical procession lights the way at Sharrow Lantern Carnival - PICTURES
MAGICAL lanterns of all shapes and sizes illuminated the early evening in a Sheffield suburb.
A bizarre collection of characters - including a giant green alien, huge mouse and enormous jelly fish - joined the procession for the sixth Sharrow Lantern Carnival last night.
The Sheffield suburb was illuminated with giant willow structures for this year's theme of Folk Lore.
The magical light procession began in Mount Pleasant Park at 7pm, where music and performers entertained the lantern bearers as they gathered.
The parade weaved through the streets towards Sheffield General Cemetery, accompanied by dancers, drummers, musicians, fire jugglers, and performers from the Flying Teapot Circus.
Open workshops took place to help people make their own lanterns.
