Lucky Luke joins the 'Cool Pool' board

LUKE Annetts knows what makes a flume zoom!

Lucky Luke, from Royston in Barnsley, tested the water as one of only seven British kids chosen to join a 'Cool Pool' board of directors for holiday firm First Choice.

The nine-year-old spent a whole weekend in the swim, shooting down slides, flying through flumes, and getting well and truly soaked – all in the name of research.

Luke won his all-expenses-paid trip after drawing a picture of his fantasy swimming baths and writing a letter to First Choice explaining why he should be on the Cool Pool board.

He was picked along with six other youngsters to visit a pool in Luton and provide ideas on what fun activities a pool needs to make it great.

Luke said: "As soon as I heard about the competition it sounded awesome and I really wanted to land the dream job! I was so excited to be selected and had an amazing weekend testing out slides. I had lots of ideas that I shared with First Choice."

All the advice provided by Luke and the other children will be incorporated into a First Choice checklist, which hotels will be judged against if they want to make it into a list of 'Splash Resorts'. There is also the chance of their ideas being included in a future First Choice pool.

For all his hard work Luke was surprised with swimming goodies and a Nintendo DS.
