PEOPLE calling Barnsley Hospital will soon be greeted by the voice of charity star Louise Jones.
The young ambassador for learning disability cause Mencap has won a competition to become the voice of Barnsley Hospital.
Her voice will now greet callers to the hospital’s automated phone system.
The 24-year-old, pictured, said: “As I have a learning disability, I think I can help people to understand things and this will help when people ring up.
“Being the Voice of Barnsley will help people understand better.”
Louise, of Barnsley, is an ambassador for Mencap’s Inspire Me Project for young people with a disability. It provides activities and training that help people learn skills and build confidence.
Louise said: “It has helped me have the confidence to try new things.”
