Lorry escape prisoner still on the run

A PRISONER who escaped from a north Nottingham-shire prison on the back of a rubbish lorry last week is still on the run.

Mark Chung vanished from HMP Ranby in Retford on Thursday when the waste collection lorry visited the site.

He was last seen jumping from the back of the vehicle when it pulled up at an industrial estate in Worksop before running off towards Worksop football ground on Sandy Lane.

Chung, aged 31, was serving six years and 11 months for supplying drugs.

He was last known to be wearing a pale grey T-shirt, stone or khaki coloured shorts, black socks and white trainers with blue markings. He may also have been carrying a purple sweatshirt and green trousers.

Chung is white, around 5ft 9ins, medium build, with shaved dark hair. It was initially thought he may have fled to South Yorkshire or Merseyside but officers from Nottinghamshire Police are working with forces across the country.

People are urged not to approach Chung but to contact police on 0115 967 0999.
