Lord Mayor to spin discs

Have your say

LORD Mayor of Sheffield Alan Law might be looking for something to fill his time now his year of office is coming to an end… but nobody imagined he’d try his hand as a DJ!

The Sheffield councillor will be the first guest DJ in a disco fund-raiser on behalf of St Luke’s Hospice on Sunday at The Greystones pub.

He’ll be playing a selection of sounds from old vinyl records now on sale at the chain of eight St Luke’s charity shops. And if his audience like them enough they’ll be able to buy them afterwards.

“We’re delighted the Lord Mayor is supporting us,” said the hospice’s fund-raising director Una Moran.

The evening will also include competitions, prizes and the chance to win a mini barrel of beer. The session begins at 8pm and admission costs £3.
