Lord Mayor meets the flower-power photographers

SHEFFIELD'S Winter Garden has seen some exotic blooms in recent times - but none more striking than those captured on camera by a group of residents from Manor and Castle.

Digital prints of golden sunflowers, soft blue cornflowers and multi-coloured poppies filled the Winter Garden during the Flowers in the Frame exhibition.

The pictures were taken by the group who visited wildflower meadows in their areas with digital artist Ali White.

They then worked on their photos using the IT facilities at the Sheffield South City Learning Centre, Stradbroke Road, to produce a series of banners and calendars.

Lord Mayor Arthur Dunworth presented all the participants with individual framed prints of their favourite photograph.
