Dozens of people attended a special peace conference at a Sheffield mosque to commemorate the centenary of the start of World War One.
More than 50 people including members of the Royal British Legion and local community groups visited the Bait-ul-Afiyat Mosque in Sussex Street, Attercliffe. The event was hosted by Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Sheffield and invited guests included Lord Mayor of Sheffield Coun Peter Rippon and Doncaster Mayor Coun Pat Haith.
It included a presentation of the history of World War One and its impact on the world.
Coun Rippon said: “I congratulate the Ahmadiyya Muslim community on holding this symposium, and wish that many more such events should be organized by other faiths as well.”
