Looking for Bob Macdonald

Have your say

I am hoping you will be able to assist in my search for my long-lost friend Bob Macdonald.

My name is Peter Gunn, and I am 76 and was born in Sheffield.

Bob and I were close friends in the 1950s, both being Scouts in the 197th St Leonards Troop, Southey Green. Together we successfully completed the Queen’s Scout Award programme.

Following my National Service in Aden 1960-1962 he was best man at my wedding in 1963. We lost touch when I relocated to Leeds in 1968 and then again to Wirral, Merseyside in 1971.

Bob married Maureen and they lived at Woodhouse for a number of years before moving to nearby Aston where they may still reside. I would be delighted to learn of his present whereabouts and make contact if possible.

PS I remember well The Star’s cartoon character, Gloops, when I was a youngster, and as an avid Owls fan looked forward to my weekly copy of The Green ’Un in later years.
