Long serving former Doncaster GP dies

A former Doncaster doctor who worked alongside his wife at a town centre surgery for more than thirty years has died.

Dr Dennis Walker, 87, served as a GP at the Kingthorne Group Practice for more than thirty years before his retirement in 1988.

His wife Margaret, who died last year, was also a doctor at the surgery on the corner of King’s Road and Thorne Road.

Dr Walker died peacefully at his home on February 27.

He leaves three children and four grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at St Andrew’s Methodist Church, Beckett Road, Doncaster on March 23 from 1.30pm followed by commital at Rose Hill Crematorium at 2.20pm.

Another former doctor at the same surgery, Dr Edward Huckett, who also worked alongside the Walkers, died last year at the age of 82.
