TWO thugs who kicked, punched and stamped on a nurse as she stood outside a Sheffield hospital are still being hunted by police.

Detectives investigating the attack on Lorna Hobson, aged 65, said inquiries are continuing.

They were called after Mrs Hobson, a healthcare assistant at the Northern General, was beaten up as she waited at a bus stop after her shift on December 28.

She was wearing her nurse’s uniform at the time of the attack.

Mrs Hobson, of Lowedges, was left covered in bruises after the attack at the junction of Herries Road and Norwood Road, Fir Vale.

The married mum-of-three told police two youth approached her from behind and mentioned the time.

As she looked at her watch the offenders jumped on her and grabbed her bag.

They punched her in her face when she screamed and she was dragged down a gravel path where the assault continued.

Mrs Hobson said the two thugs kicked, punched and stamped on her.

The robbers fled with her shoulder bag, which contained her purse and £60, her house keys and some medical paperwork.

They were aged between 16 and 20, around 6ft, skinny and dark-skinned. One of them was wearing grey jogging bottoms and a dark top.

n Anyone with information should call 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
