WWI battlefield tours organised

RELATIVES of South Yorkshire servicemen killed in World War One are being offered places on battlefield pilgrimages as the 2014 centenary of the start of the conflict approaches.

The Lancs and Yorks Historical Society is offering tours in August and September to sites including the Somme, Ypres, Arras, Vimy Ridge and Loos.

The trips include visits cemeteries and memorials in the north French and Belgian countryside.
