Woman saved by firefighters

an elderly woman was rescued from her home by firefighters after a blaze broke out in her kitchen.

Fire crews were alerted to the blaze at the property on Saville Road, Wath upon Dearne, on Sunday, at about 8.15am, and led the elderly occupant to safety.

She was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.
