A violent sex attacker has been warned he is facing a ‘very lengthy’ jail term after he admitted raping two women in Rotherham.

Nicholas Totty, aged 25, raped one woman three times and another one once during a weekend attack in September.

At Sheffield Crown Court yesterday, he admitted four counts of rape, one of assault with intent to commit sexual offences , wounding with intent and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.

Remanding him in custody, Mr Justice Globe said he would get credit for pleading guilty at an early stage, but he still faced a lengthy period behind bars.

He told Totty: “You have pleaded guilty to seven extremely serious offences.

“I’m forming no view about what the sentence will be today, but it’s inevitable it will be a very lengthy custodial sentence.

Totty was arrested in Moorgate, Rotherham, on Monday, September 30.

A 27-year-old woman was walking along Green Lane between 11pm and 11.30pm on Friday, September 27, when she was grabbed and attacked.

Afterwards she was dragged onto Moorgate Road where passing members of the public intervened.

At 1am on Saturday, September 28, two women were seriously assaulted at an address in the town and one of the women was then sexually attacked.

Totty, of Newman Road, Whiston, will be sentenced next month.
