Vintage bike show roars into Sheffield

VINTAGE military motorbikes, speedway racers and safety demonstrations are some of the attractions on offer at a show in Sheffield city centre on Sunday.

The event is taking place on The Moor from 11am to 4pm and organisers say it will feature around 150 vehicles as well as a guest appearance by professional biker Lisa Thorne.

Representatives from Sheffield Tigers Speedway will also be visiting.

Other attractions include displays from Bike Safe and rare vehicles from the British Motorcycle Preservation Society.

Sheffield racing team On The Edge of Birley Edge will also be visiting along with their sidecar outfit.

Novices can even try their hand at riding a special bike simulator.

Organiser Sandra Barley said proud owners would be bringing their vintage vehicles from far and wide to show at the event.

She said: “We have people coming to display their vehicles from all around the region, even further in many cases. I’m hoping this will become an annual event.”
