The job of verger at St Mary’s Church, Tickhill, has become vacant after Stuart Millard decided to stand down after 10 years’ service.
The vicar and the churchwardens are now on the lookout for a suitable person to take over the duties of unlocking and locking the church each day.
There is a small remuneration and fees are paid for funerals and weddings.
Mr Millard continues as a town councillor.
