Vehicles destroyed at the hands of arsonists

ARSONISTS left a trail of destruction when they set fire to cars across South Yorkshire.

A Fiat Punto was destroyed by flames after being set alight in an arson attack on Tudor Street, Thurnscoe, Barnsley, at 12.35pm on Monday, and a blazing Ford Fiesta was put out by firefighters on Platt Street, Neepsend, Sheffield, at 3am on Sunday.

A Nissan Micra was also set ablaze deliberately, on Deerlands Avenue, Parson Cross.

A Renault Megane in flames on Burngreave Road, Pitsmoor, at the junction with Cookswood Road, at 8.15pm on Tuesday, and a van ablaze on Sheffield Road, Oxspring, at 7.45pm on Wednesday, had both caught fire by accident.

Meanwhile two wheelie bins were set on fire on Sheffield Road in Chesterfield, near The Dragon Inn takeaway.
