Two Sheffield men charged with attempted murder

NEWS: News.

NEWS: News.

TWO men have been charged with the attempted murder of a teenager shot in both legs in a street attack in Sheffield last year.

The Star reported last autumn how Jordan Porter, 19, was found collapsed on Cuthbert Bank Road, Hillsborough, at 9.50pm on Monday, October 22.

Neighbours rushed to help, using scissors to cut Jordan’s trousers before tying towels as tourniquets around his wounded legs to stop the bleeding.

Jordan was discharged from hospital three days later, but told The Star he would need further surgery for his wounds.

“I can’t walk at the moment and will have to go back into hospital,” he said.

Darren Michael Whitehead, aged 25, of Oxspring Bank, Parson Cross, was arrested last November - and was charged by detectives yesterday with attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence, and being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

A second man, Jamie Lee Howden, 22, of Lytton Drive, Parson Cross, Sheffield, was arrested in January - and he too has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Whitehead appeared at Sheffield Crown Court yesterday and was remanded in custody.

Howden is remanded in custody, and will appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court next Friday.
