Police are quizzing two men about a break-in at a Doncaster town centre bar yesterday.
Detectives were yesterday morning investigating the alleged burglary at the premises where staff were assessing what had been stolen during the night.
The Vintage Rockbar in St George Gate was sealed off yesterday morning as shoppers arrived at the market from Baxter Gate.
Several bloodstains could clearly be seen on the pavement and step next to a shattered door window at the frontage of the bar.
Fragments of broken beer bottles were also lying on the ground near the entrance.
South Yorkshire Police said two men had been arrested and were in custody being questioned about the alleged break-in.
The break-in is believed to have taken place about 1.30am, but the two suspects were arrested at 5am after a member of the public reported suspicious activity.
A police spokesman said two men aged 41 and 33 were helping with enquiries into the alleged burglary.
By yesterday afternoon the window had been repaired and the pub was open as usual.
