Police want to trace a car which failed to stop at the scene of a collision in Marr, Doncaster, last night.

A Rover 75 was heading along the A635 Barnsley Road towards Doncaster at 8.45pm when the driver narrowly avoided a collision with a car, which is believed to be a Vauxhall Corsa.

The Rover went out of control, left the road and landed on its roof but the second vehicle failed to stop at the scene.

The driver of the Rover, a 43-year-old man from Thurnscoe, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital, where he remains.

His passenger, a 43-year-old man from Edlington, also sustained minor injuries but has been discharged from hospital.

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for members of the public who witnessed the collision or the manner of driving of either vehicle prior to it, to call 101 with information, quoting incident number 1162 of April 15.
