A rapist who attacked a vulnerable 16 year old girl at a secluded spot near Sheffield city centre has been jailed for 12 years.

Radu Rostas, aged 27, followed the terrified teenager to Broad Street, Wybourn, after she got off a bus in the early hours of October 20 2013.

20 October 2013.

He grabbed her from behind and dragged her to a grassy area, where he demanded she perform a sex act on him.

The brave youngster tried to run away but tripped and fell.

Then he pinned her to the ground and raped her.

After the attack, the girl phoned the police, who conducted a search of the surrounding area and arrested Rostas on suspicion of rape.

Ian Goldsack, prosecuting at Sheffield Crown Court, said the terrified youngster had suffered nightmares since the attack, her studies had suffered and she was too afraid to go out alone.

Rostas, of St Anne’s Road, Eastmoor, Rotherham, was jailed for 12 years by Judge Paul Watson QC.
