Three heroin dealers snared after a police raid in Rotherham have been jailed for a combined total of more than six years.

Neil Greenwood, aged 38, his girlfriend Victoria Fordham, 22, and ‘driver’ Mark Colton, 39, were caught after Colton drove a Renault Laguna at a police car containing officers who were on their way to search Greenwood and Fordham’s home.

Sheffield Crown Court heard the trio had been dealing heroin for around six months when police arrived to execute a warrant at the couple’s address in Gurth Drive, Thurcroft.

As officers drove into the street they saw Greenwood and Colton in the red Renault which was driven towards them at speed by Colton.

Robin Maris, prosecuting, said the car hit a kerb and drove off but Colton later returned.

When officers knocked at the door Fordham said: “I’ve got an ounce of black - I need to get away from this lifestyle,” and was arrested.

Police seized heroin with a street value of nearly £10,000 from the property and £1,360 in cash.

Greenwood later admitted he’d been recruited by a traveller called ‘Michael from Doncaster’ to sell heroin.

Heroin addict Fordham, admitted her part and said she was using £60 worth of the drug a day.

Colton said Greenwood gave him a £10 bag of heroin a day to drive him around.

Mr Maris said while remanded in custody Greenwood rang his son and asked him to prevent a witness going to court to testify against him by smashing up his van.

The telephone call was recorded by the authorities.

Greenwood admitted possessing heroin with intent to supply, supplying heroin, possessing criminal property and perverting the course of justice and was jailed for three years, eight months.

Fordham admitted possessing heroin with intent to supply and supplying heroin and was given 16 months in jail.

Colton, of Burns Road, Dinnington, admitted dangerous driving, possessing heroin with intent to supply and supplying heroin and was given two years, four months.

He was also banned from driving for 12 months.
