THE trial of a man accused of robbing and murdering Sheffield lingerie tycoon Anthony Power began today.
Jurors at Sheffield Crown Court heard that 78-year-old was stamped on, kicked and punched in the attack which led to his death on the first day of the hearing.
Imran Khan, 30, is accused of carrying out the assault in High Hazels Park, Darnall in Sheffield last October. Mr Power was searching for his brother Noel, who has dementia and had gone missing from home, at the time.
Khan, of Handsworth Road, Darnall denies murder. He had previously pleaded not guilty to two counts of battery on other victims in the hours before and after the attack on Mr Power, but changed to a guilty plea this morning.
Mr Power, who lived in Broadway founded Panache lingerie in Sheffield in 1982.
