Tough welcome for newcomer

A MAN suffered a broken jaw in a Doncaster assault by thugs who wanted to know ‘where he was from’.

The 28-year-old was walking near The White Rose pub at the junction of Grange Lane and Radburn Road, Rossington, in the early hours when two men approached him in the alleyway.

One asked him where he was from and the victim replied he had just moved to Rossington. The men then assaulted him, leaving him face down on the ground covered in blood.

He suffered cuts to his tongue and mouth, and a broken lower jaw, and was treated for his injuries in hospital.

The thugs were white and spoke with local accents.

Witnesses to the assault should contact police on 101 quoting incident 598 of December 31.
