Toddler ‘critical’ after Doncaster car crash

A child has been critically injured and a woman were seriously injured in a Doncaster car crash last night.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened in Askern Road, Carcroft, just before 7.30pm yesterday when a silver BMW left the road and smashed into a tree.

A one-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the vehicle, sustained life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital where he is said to be in a critical condition today.

A second passenger, a 20-year-old woman from Doncaster, was seriously injured and also remains in hospital.

The driver of the vehicle, a 29-year-old man also from Doncaster, escaped with minor injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the vehicle prior to the collision, is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 1005 of December 17.
